Dr. Margaret Gopaul is a clinician at XRHealth trained to treat various conditions such as stress, anxiety, depression, memory decline, cognitive impairments, chronic pain, acute pain, pain distraction, pain syndromes, traumatic brain injury, stroke rehabilitation, neurological disorders, hot flashes, night sweats and more. Dr. Gopaul brings a diverse background, experience, and training to her treatment approach. With training as a clinical psychologist who specializes in neurodevelopment and neurocognitive disorders, she incorporates evidence-based treatment with virtual reality that utilizes cutting-edge technology to help patients feel better faster.
Dr. Gopaul also holds a Post-Doctorate in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Alliant University with training from Yale Child Study Center, Yale Parenting Center and Child Conduct Clinic, and Centra Autism and Developmental Center. She is certified by Weill Cornell Medicine-The Center for Autism and the Developing Brain to administer the Clinical Toddler Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and Modules 1-4 of the ADOS-2. Dr. Gopaul is licensed in the state of Massachusetts (LMHC).
She received training as a researcher at the Yale Neuroscience Lab while processing and analyzing data from an NIMH-funded study utilizing neuroimaging to assess associative memory deficits in patients with schizophrenia. She has published book chapters in the clinical application for ADHD in the Principle-Based Stepped Care and Brief Psychotherapy for Integrated Care Settings and Social Skills in the Handbook of Intellectual Disabilities. Dr. Gopaul currently serves as a doctorate-level university professor, Ph.D. curriculum developer, an Institute Review Board (IRB) member as well as a reviewer for the International Journal of Online Graduate Education.
